Willy (Jose Angel Llamas) is a disoriented man. He has enjoyed his life with all the luxuries money can buy, but he has never been happy. When his parents pass away his grandmother Gertrudis (Sully Montero) takes custody of him but she does not love him and makes him lose his self-esteem. He believes that no one will love him for himself, only for his money. Before his 30th birthday he has to be married in order to receive his inheritance and if he is not married by 30, the fortune will go to his grandmother. Gertrudis does not need Willy's money; she has her own fortune, so she decided to arrange a marriage between Willy and Margot (Marjorie de Sousa), a young woman whom she can manipulate.

Willy rebels and decides to place an ad in the newspaper soliciting a girlfriend. Mariana read the ad and answers it; she needs the money to free her father from jail. He is in prison for killed a man who tried to kidnap her. From the many candidates, Willy chose Mariana.

How will Gertrudis react when she discovers that Willy has a girlfriend and that it will be more difficult for her to control him? Would Willy and Mariana be happy together even though at the begging of their relationship they only thought on their own needs?
