Rodrigo is a successful man who allows and encourages all their whims. They lost their mother at a young age, believing that their mother died in a car accident.
The sisters grew up under the care of Guadalupe (Mayra Rojas), their nana. They also grew up with Guadalupe's son Manuel (Yahir) which Fernanda feels a strong attraction to. Because of Manuel's poor upbringing and conditions, Fernanda tries to ignore her felling towards him.
Berenice (Betty Monroe) is a very manipulative woman who succeeds in becoming Rodrigo's wife. Berenice slowly poisons Rodrigo until he is on his death bed. At the same time she slowly deteriorates the bond Rodrigo has with his daughters and they distance themselves.
Maria Angeles, looking for a reason of how and why their father was ill, finds herself looking in her father's office for answers. In the office she discovers her stepmother and Gregorio (Tomas Goros) kissing. Gregorio asks Diego (Carlos Torres) to do anything possible to keep her quiet. Diego goes after Maria Angeles, knowing that the only option he has is to assassinate her but he cannot. Instead, he protects and cares for her.
Realizing that her sister has disappeared, Fernanda seeks to discover the death of her father. Maria Soledad starts to fall in love with Ignacio (Fernando Alonso), Gregorio's son.
The lives of the three sisters changes dramatically after their father's death. They are stripped of their money and property. Gregorio takes advantage of their situation and asked Fernanda to be his lover, in exchange he would provide for her. Fernanda accepts even though her heart belongs to Manuel. Her plan is to avenge her father and obtain her wealth back.
Soledad enters a convent to finish her education away from all the chaos and suffering. Fernanda starts a clothing business with the money Gregory gives her and at the same time she supports Manuel. Gradually Fernanda obtains the courage to confront Gregory and Berenice. She goes in search of her sisters and ends up with Manuel.
