When Carlos Larios (Gonzalo Vega) discovers that his wife Catalina Creel (Maria Rubio) is not blind, as she has let them believe for many years, (for which she has accuses Jose Carlos (Gonzalo Vega) and has made him feel guilty), he tells her that he will unmask her and change his will. To avoid from being discovered she poisons him, not giving him time to change his will. Carlos goes to work and on his way he suffer a hart attack and dies. His car crashes against the office building where Leonora Navarro (Diana Bracho) works. Leonora contacts Alejandro (Alejandro Camacho), Larios' son and tells him what had occurred.
The Lorios' will specifies that either of his sons, Jose Carlos or Alejandro, who fathers an heir first will take control of Lar-Creel and the fortune. Catalina wants Alejandro and his wife Vilma (Rebecca Jones) to be the first to have a baby. To insure that Alejandro obtains the inheritance she disguises herself and commits a crime to frame Jose, who is later convicted and imprisoned.
Alejandro knows his mother and he knows that she will try to separate him from Vilma when she find out she is sterile. He loves Vilma that is why he goes to see Leonora to ask her for help. They made an agreement, Vilma will pretend that she is pregnant and Leonora will have Alejandro's baby. When Catalina discovers Vilma's lie, Alejandro tells her his plan. Catalina let's Leonara be close to Alejandro her plan is to steal the baby at birth.
Catalina leaves Leonora in a clinic under Dr. Zindel (Ramon Menendez) and Rosalia's (Lilia Aragon) care. When the baby is born, Catalina tells Dr. Zindel to kill Leonora. Rosalia is instructed to do the dirty work, but Leonora escapes in the darkness of the night. A woman helps her to get medical attention. When Jose is released from jail, Leonora marries him with the intention to getting her baby back.
Bertha Moscoso (Rosa Maria Bianchi) Catalina's secretary, soon finds herself in the same clinic. Rosalina discovers that Dr. Zindel trying to rape Bertha. She gets mad and burns the clinic down. After that incident she seeks help and goes to Catalina but instead of help Catalina murders her and dresses her with the disguise she has used to commit her crimes. Bertha seeks revenge on the Larios. She informs the police of Catalina's crimes.
Alejandro realizes that his mother had killed his father and that she had destroyed his life. Things get worst when Vilma is diagnostic with cancer. Vilma returns the infant back to his mother, Leonora. Alejandro prepares Vilma to go on a trip to find help for her illness but Catalina thinks that Jose and Leonara are the ones who will fly and fix it so the plane will explode during the flight. When the police are arrest Catalina, she is informed of her son death, she losses what she most loves in her life "her son Alejandro." Her crimes had been exposed and she is not whiling to go to jail. So she dresses in the dark overcoat and the blond wig then drinks a especial beverage that she had prepared to end her life.
