This is the story of three brothers: Juan (Eduardo Yanez), Oscar (Jorge Salinas) and Franco (Pablo Montero) Reyes who swear to revenge their sisters death. Libia (Sherlyn) dies in strange circumstances after finding out that her future husband Bernardo Elizondo (Carlos Bracho) had passed away and that he was married with three children at the same time that he has a relationship with her. When she found out the truth it broke her hart and she went to the river to denounce him. Her brothers not being able to find her get scare and started looking for her.
Sofia's (Adela Noriega) possessive, abusive and greedy husband Fernando (Guillermo Garcia Cantu) is also looking for Libia as well. Knowing that Libia was pregnant and that her unborn child would inherit Bernardo's fortune he ambushes her and forces her to go toward the river and drowns her. The next day the police find Libia’s body in the river and assume it was a suicide. The police disclose that it was a suicide to her brothers but they don't believe that she would have committed suicide because she was pregnant. They vow to revenge her death and destroy the Elizondo’s family. The brothers go to Elizondo's ranch to revenge their sisters' death but instead of a confrontation with Don Agustin Acevedo (Joaquin Cordero), Eva (Maria Sorte) and the other family servants convince them to build a home outside of the Elizondo’s propriety and pass themselves as construction workers that they have hired to do the job. Their plan was to get close to the family and when the time was right avenge their sisters' death.
With the purpose to discover the assassin they begin working on a house on the Elizondo property and they soon meet Bernardo’s family; Sofia, Sarita (Nora Salinas), Ximena (Elizabeth Alvarez) and Gabriela Aceveda (Diana Bracho), Bernardo’s ex-wife. This encounter changes the course of the brothers' revenge. They decide to seduce the Bernardo’s daughters. The brothers decided that Juan would seduce Sofia, Oscar would seduce Ximena and Franco would seduce Sarita.
The three brothers got to know the three sisters and realized that they were not how they thought they were and they end up falling in love with them. Juan finds in Sofia a sensitive and charitable woman to whom life has denied her the possibility to be happy when he discovers that she was raped by her husband, Fernando, before they got married. Gabriela forced Sofia to married Fernando to avoid the family's shame. Juan and Sofia’s confrontations make them fall in love each other. But Fernando to whom Gabriela protects doesn't want to lose his wife and her fortune.
Oscar found in Ximena his other half. She is the kind of woman who one would like to marry. She is the opposite of her sisters, she is intrepid and does not want to live and die being virgin. She falls in love with Oscar and marries him. But like her sisters she faces a lot of problems with her mother because she doesn't like the man who she loves.
Franco and Sarita are the kind of people who resist falling in love. Both are sensible and it takes them a while for them to acknowledge they had feeling towards each other. An obstacle in their relationship is Rosario Montes (Ninel Conde) a singer who Franco has a relationship with Sarita believes Franco still loves. Franco has to decide between them. Franco keeps Rosario close to him because she becomes a great friend. One night Franco and Sarita get drunk and end wake up married. Sarita is furious because she believed Franco had planed everything and had tricked her into marring him. Sarita ends up living at the Reyes home with her sister and brothers- in-laws.
Eva, the Elizondo’s family servant, had an affair with Bernardo and although Bernardo didn’t remember the only night of passion they had, resulting in Eva getting pregnant. Gabriela forces her to abandon the baby. Eva searches for her daughter and will not give up until she finds her, not knowing that she has been close to her all along.
Don Agustin who is in a wheelchair always is conspiring against his daughter Gabriela. The priest of the town Father Tadeo (Rene Casados) begins to know the peoples’ secrets by their confessions. He tries in vain to resolve problems which are far from his control. He tries to protect the Reyes brother as well as the woman they love making him the enemy of Fernando.
The Reyes brothers have to decide if they free themselves from the oath they did to their sister Libia or to remain with the women they love.
