At nights she works as a singer in a bar called Plaza Garibaldi to make money to take care of her mother and her little sister. In the music world, she is known as the “Lucero de Mexico.’ She is a very good singer, but she dreams of obtaining a degree in business administration.
One night while working she sees Emiliano (Francisco Lara). He looked as if he had been assault and she decided to help him. He is impressed by Rosario disinterested and solidarity. This is an unknown feeling that he had never encounter in the world he has lived.
Emiliano Sanchez Gallardo belongs to one of the powerful and richest families in Mexico. He was accustomed to having expensive vehicles, wearing brand name clothing and being surrounded of beautiful women. Emiliano has a degree in economy from the Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, and a business doctorate from Harvard University. He was a successful man, but one night he found himself accused of a crime that he didn’t commit changing his life drastically. Emiliano enters an unknown world and he had to leave his country while the situation clears up. He traveled from Mexico to Bogota and he meets Rosario and she offered him her help. With Rosario’s help, he survives through singing at Plaza Garibaldi and he also discovers the popularity that the Mexican Culture has in Colombian culture. Emiliano had never imagined that he would end up becoming a Mexican singer in a foreign country. He has to face poverty in order to remain hidden. He falls in love with Rosario and thinking that his judicial problems will be clear soon, he has not told her the truth. In reality he doesn’t imagine the gravity of his situation; his partners are accusing him of money laundering.
Rosario, without knowing that Emiliano is a rich man falls in love with him. Rosario starts to remember happy and painful moments that she spent with her father. Her father was a singer; he was a passionate man who filed his family sadness. He puts his job, alcohol and women above of his family. The image Rosario had of her father was full of happiness and passion for this reason she has take care of her father’s mariachi, which she lends to Emiliano.
Manuel (Gregorio Perina) known as ‘El Coloso de Jalisco’ is the leader of the permanent musical group of the bar. He is haughty, womanizer and Rosario’s lover. He doesn’t like to see Emiliano in the bar because he is handsome and a very good singer. He is afraid to lose his first singing position at the bar and he is also afraid to lose Rosario affection.
Virginia Malagon (Estefania Borge) is the Plaza Garibaldi owner’s daughter. She wishes to live in high society and win Emiliano love even if it means competing with Rosario for his love.
Emiliano and Rosario will fight all obstacles and to be together.
