Eduardo (Fernando Colunga), the family's maid Soledad's (Maria Rojo) son and Fernanda (Sikvia Navarro), the Elizondo’s youngest daughter are good friends; for them the social class difference doesn’t exist.

Barbara sees the teens kissing innocently. Barbara, following instructions, accuses Eduardo of abuse and the boy is sent to a boarding school. After the children separate Barbara succeeds in killing Monserrat and marries Gonzalo.

Soledad is the only one who knows of Barbara's wickedness but she can't protect her son. When Eduardo returns home his mother tells him what had transpired and he promises her that he will unmask Barbara. To accomplish the promise he made to his mother, Eduardo changes his name and gets involve in the Elizalde's enterprise. When Fernanda sees Eduardo, she feels attracted to him, she feels like if she has known him for ever and Eduardo has loved her forever.
