Lorena (Ana Layevska) and Sara (Carmen Becerra) grow up together in an orphanage, and although their personalities are different they love each other like sisters. Lorena loves to cook and her dream is to have her own family. Sara is materialistic; she doesn’t like the orphanage, poverty and has more ambitions than scruples.

Lorena (Ana Layevska) and Sara (Carmen Becerra) grow up together in an orphanage, and although their personalities are different they love each other like sisters. Lorena loves to cook and her dream is to have her own family. Sara is materialistic; she doesn’t like the orphanage, poverty and has more ambitions than scruples.

Lorena’s biggest dream is to be a chef. One day she says good- bye to the nuns and leave the orphanage to go to Mexico City to study cuisine. The same day the superior nun discovers that Sara had stolen all their money. When she confronts Sara she suffers a heart attack and dies. Sara and her accomplice, the orphanage’s chauffeur Chalo (Mike Biaggio) leave the orphanage. She did not what to leave any sign of her presence at the orphanage so she steals both Lorena’s and her files. When she read the files she finds out the she had been found in the garbage and that Lorena had been left in the orphanage by her grandmother, the millionaire Hortensia Armendariz (Maria Rubio). Her first impulse was to encounter Lorena and help her faces her grandmother but right away she decides to take her place in the Armendariz family.

Lorena starts working in a food company without knowing that the company belongs to her grandmother. She meets Alonso (Gabriel Soto), a doctor, and falls in love with him. Sara accidentally encounters Lorena in the company and is furious. She decides to get rid of Lorena and take everything from her including Alonso. When Lorena discovers Sara’s perverse hatred towards her, she realized that she never knew the person whom she loved like a sister. Although she has a broken heart she stays brave and faces treachery and cruelly head-on. At the end, Lorena finds the family she was looking for with the man she loves.
